Prof. Krystyna Pyrzyńska is an internationally recognized scientist whose research spans analytical chemistry, environmental chemistry, food chemistry, and nanomaterials, with a strong emphasis on trace element speciation, particularly selenium and chromium, and their roles in human health and environmental systems. Her research interests include nanomaterials and functionalized sorbents for metal ion enrichment and removal, selenium nanoparticles, bioactive compounds from plant and food by-products, and photocatalytic degradation of pharmaceutical contaminants. She possesses advanced research skills in elemental speciation analysis, chromatographic and spectrometric techniques, nanomaterial synthesis and characterization, environmental monitoring, and food quality assessment.
